About

Jamie Iain Genovese doesn’t make ‘statements’ in his art, his art is merely vibrations in physical form. He lives in the squalid concrete blocks of Malta & London, surrounded by an égalité of creatives that are just as sensational. Jamie lives with contempt, breeds contempt, is contempt; to government, clichés, and the art world itself.
His work deals with absolutes, and the between, negotiating the spatial-temporal truths of our time, and the truths of everyday things. For Jamie, a banana is not a banana, it is the spirit of republics – genetically homogenous, dead, and monopolised.
“To live is to lie, and to lie is to be an artist” – himself

No, but, really now, let’s be serious.

I am photographer from Malta with an academic background in psychology that has been freelancing as a writer/photographer for a decade and had a good run for a few years working as Executive Editor for a food & drink mag until 2019, when I enrolled at Central Saint Martins to pursue a Master’s degree to further develop my practice as a ‘playful artist’. I graduated in 2021, after which I participated in group shows at Unit 1 Gallery and Rankin’s Visual Noise (2022) and have kept working as a photographer publishing with mags such as Anon.

Alright, for real this time, take a look at my work and

enter the see-quence.
